Garden Pickers Addition: Eggs on my Salad, Please
Not only is it frugal, Gardening is a favorite hobby of my family. Whether you're looking to start a new family hobby or a personal pass-time a garden could be just what you need. You don't need a lot of space, at one point we started out with a container patio garden that grew just as well. And you don't need a green-thumb either. It's wonderful to have the luxury of stepping outside and picking what we need for supper, completely it's safe to say, Yeah Buddy, We Love Garden Season! It can be work, but the fruits of your labor are well worth it. Learn tips and tricks to keeping a garden smarter not harder, hence my blog entry,"The Household Go-To" can help you out. As a family we pick out our favorite fruits and veggies, plant the seeds, nurture them together, and watch our delicious garden grow. My 2 year old is amazed with this and I can actually see a difference in his eating habits since we've introduced him to this concept. BONUS! Follow me and my Gardening Board on Pinterest to see tips, tricks, and inspirations. My friend recommended I do like she did and add another source of fresh daily organics to my kitchen while never leaving my backyard. After retrieving the resources and details and pulling a few of my husbands teeth I was able to convince him to let me give it a try, promising we'd at least have fun learning and make a memory or two. And of course, he's glad he listened to me. We have now added more attraction to our garden with a small chicken coop equipped with two egg laying hens. Our table and our neighbors' tables are thankful we took a chance.
You can take a chance too, Provide your family with fresh daily organics. Imagine a life of less shopping and more picking.

Country Living Décor: Staple Item # 1
We're not just canning anymore. Mason Jars are a staple item in my home. Indoors and Outdoors. Not only do they fill my cupboards with good eats, they also make for very chic decoration. Organize household items, craft supplies, food (the fillings are endless). Tie a simple bow around the top for a quick pick me up and personal customization. Simply tie a hanging agent to the rim of the glass and fill the jars with sand, small rocks or pebbles add a tea light or votive candle for simple dim lighting and hang from a tree branch or a fence. Instantly turn a Mason Jar into a beautiful centerpiece or accent piece with a bouquet or a mixture of your favorite flowers. And of course, fill with your favorite drinks and toast to your favorite people. The possibilities go on and on, here are a few of my favorites.

Couponing 101: How to Save Your Family Big $
Everyone feels somewhat cheated when they leave the Grocery Store, right? Regardless of what your household budget is, take the time to plan your meals, prepare a list (as you go), and use your coupons on sale items. If used correctly, coupons can pay well for your time spent. The most effective method of couponing is organization.
Do yourself a favor before you get overly clip-happy, pick up a binder for a couple dollars (personalizing it is fun too) and order some baseball card pages to neatly store your clipped coupons. Besides for the Sunday paper, (or the local recycling center), my favorite online resources for coupons are:

Discover the Household "Go To": White Vinegar
Vinegar has got to be my #1 "Go To" Household product. Seriously! Many people don't know of it's many awesome benefits for Health, Cleaning, and Pet Care. I've put together a short list of my favorite uses.
1. Revive Old Paintbrushes- Soak gunked-up brushes in a bucket with hot vinegar for at least 30 minutes to remove paint and soften bristles. Afterwards, wash them in hot soapy water brushing off paint as needed, shake off excess water and let air dry- good as new!
2. Test your soil's pH- Place a handful of dirt in a container and add 1 tablespoon of vinegar. If you see fizzling that means your soil is alkaline. You can then adjust the pH with an acid amendment.
3. No more stick- Dab vinegar on stickers and scrape off with a hard utensil. Rub more vinegar on areas to rub off any left behind stickiness.
4. Dissolve Rust- Add old tools, bolts, and screws to a vinegar filled container and let it sit for a few days. Rinse with water and watch the rust disappear.
5. Soften Laundry- Add 1/2 cup of White Vinegar to your laundry load in addition to your preferred laundry detergent. Once dried you'll be surprised how simple it was to turn around those old stiff towels.
6. ANYTHING PICKELED
7. All Natural Weed Killer- A wonderful remedy but be aware it is non-selective meaning it will kill all natural plants. For this I recommend cutting a gallon milk jug in half and keeping the top half. Remove the lid and taa-daa- now you have a parameter tool to keep all other plants safe. Great for landscapes, gardens, and those stubborn sidewalk cracks. DON'T USE ROUNDUP.
8. Paint Adherent- Before painting galvanized metal or concrete wipe down the surface with a vinegar soaked rag to help promote a longer lasting job. Also works to help your nail polish, soak a cotton ball with vinegar and apply to nail prior to painting. Manicure/Pedicure perfect for weeks.
9. Soothe a Bee Sting- Apply full strength vinegar to the area ( just be sure the stinger is gone ). Allow vinegar to penetrate skin for at least 1 minute before removing.
10. Stainless Steel Revitalizer- Add equal parts water and vinegar in an empty spray bottle. Wipe surface down and allow to air dry for a spotless shine. Beats those pricey stainless steel products.
